Heart attack and stroke are the main reasons for mortality and morbidity in the Western world, this even despite years of anti-cholesterol campaigns.


Part A:

If you had a heart attack or stroke and were admitted to a hospital:

Were you explained by a physician or other member of the health care team what the reasons for heart attack and stroke are? Yes No
If you were explained some of the causes of heart attack and stroke, have you been given more than three possible causes (such as cholesterol, blood pressure and obesity) Yes No
Have you been told that unstable plaques are an important reason for the development of heart attacks and sudden death? Yes No
Have you been told about the relation between inflamation and heart disease? Yes No
Were you told what the complications of heart attacks and stroke are? Yes No
